About
"High Instability"
"High
Instability" is an internet-based radio show that we
hope will prove to be a thought provoking, intellectual foundation
for everything related to weather (meteorology) and the
enjoyment this subject brings to so many people. We'll cover
topics such as weather folklore, how to get the most out of
photographing the weather, current advancements in weather
forecasting, severe storms research, engineering and
building practices in hazardous weather prone areas,
children's outreach programs at the National Weather Center ...you
name it. Suggestions are welcome!
It is simply amazing what
you can do with the internet these days ...and having your
own radio show is just one of the many possibilities that
comes to light in this day and age. We are excited at the
potential for such an endeavor and feel that a weather radio
show based in the heart of America would cover a niche that
till now was not filled. Being based in Norman Oklahoma, one
of the country's leading severe weather research centers, we
felt that having such a radio show would be just the
thing to take advantage of the great concentration of
cutting-edge meteorological talent located in this region of
the country and allow us to share their thoughts with our
listeners.
As host of the new
"High Instability" radio show, I can say that I
have had a long interest in both radio and meteorology
....now I get to combine the two! So I invite you to come
listen to the show and get ready for something that's
completely different ... an intimate look into some of our
leading experts in enjoying the weather. This show is about
the weather and the people who live it! So I leave you with
this famous quote from Roger Miller that I feel is very
apropos:
"Some people walk
in the rain, others just get wet."
Enjoy the show,
..Gene Rhoden..
